Commercial Approval

Oshara Announces Commercial Coop

Oshara Village has dedicated itself to the concept of business democracy where local businesses that tend to recirculate revenues within the local community are embraced over national corporations. To this end Oshara has created the first business Cooperative making it possible for local businesses to own a retail or office space in the Oshara Plaza Business District on Richards Avenue with its 13,000 cars per day and no local services. This "Lifestyle Center" will be the destination downtown for the Community College District expected to have a population of 30,000 when complete.

The first commercial building will be visible from Richards Avenue and Willow Back Road one of the connectors to the Rabbit Road Extension to St. Francis Drive. Classic Santa Fe architecture and outside display space under the front portal will make the Oshara Plaza District one of the most exciting new commercial centers in Santa Fe. This prime location is being offered to selected local businesses with monthly payments lower than typical rents.

Oshara Village received EZC & EZA approval in late January 2007 for the construction of Commercial Buildings 3, 4 and 5. These are the first three commercial building that will be build on the Oshara Plaza. They are located facing Richards Ave. between Willow Back Rd. and facing the south side of the Oshara Village Plaza.

The planned mix of tenants will ensure that Oshara's residents have walkable access to most basic shopping needs. Potential tenants currently in negotiation include a grocery store, a dry cleaner, a pack & ship, a bookstore, a bike shop, an organic pizza company, a hardware store and water/air purification equipment store. Available spaces begins at 1,000 square feet.
